First Annual Parkinson's Walk it​ Off!!

​We look forward to walking together on Saturday, April 21 at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper in Albuquerque, NM!  Registration is still open! You can either start a team (instructions below) or register by making a donation of just $35 and receive a walk t-shirt! Form your team today by clicking here or scroll down the page and click on any other fundraiser to support (in a bubble).  

Day of Walk Schedule:
7:30 am - Vendor Set-up
8:30 am - Walker Registration
9:30 am - Opening Ceremony
10:00 am - Walk Begins
2:00 pm - Walk concludes/vendor breakdown
Breakfast provided! T-shirt included with $35 registration.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO WALKERS!
  • Please use east entrance to Hoffmantown Church for parking. Three trails are available for you to choose from. There will be one short walking path, one medium walking path or one 3-mile walking path). 
  • Some seating is available. But if you can, bring lawn chairs to kick back and enjoy the festivities.
  • Dress for the weather—which we hope will be stellar.
  • Bathrooms will be close by.
  • Arrive at 8:30 to register for the walk (OK to register on site); 9 am to join the opening ceremony.
  • Pick one of the three walking trails that suits you and get your body moving.
  • Have a burrito and drink while you enjoy music and entertainment.
  • The action should end around noon.
  • Wear a hat and bring sunscreen.
  • Bottled water is provided, but bring more if you think you need it; you will be asked to sign a waiver when you check in on the morning of the event.
​All proceeds from the Walk go to the Coalition and 100% of contributions stay in New Mexico to help persons with PD! With your help we can accomplish the following:
  • Ensure there are Parkinson's focused exercise programs
  • Develop communications programs led by trained Speech Therapists to help people with the disease slow the deterioration of their vocal cords
  • Provide holistic support to combat depression, support education programs including efforts designed to reduce barriers between physicians and those impacted by Parkinson's to improve quality of care
  • Provide Support Groups that share resources to those newly diagnosed with Parkinson's, giving them valuable tools to live well with the disease
  • Foster community so those impacted by Parkinson's understand they do not face the disease alone

​Instructions on how to form a team:
1/Click "Start Fundraising", 2/Register by walking through the steps, 3/invite your friends to your personalized page. Ask them to click the "Donate" button to make a donation. If you have trouble please contact the Coalition office at 505-219-5065. Register here: Walk Today! Once you get to the walk page click "Start Fundraising" to register your team. (You'll be walked through the steps.)  Once you're page is ready to go, invite people to your personal fundraising page and ask them click the "Donate" button.  They can support you at the levels that are listed on your donation page.  Prefer to register by mail?  Click here for a printable .pdf and mail your registration to:

​INTERESTED IN WALKING BUT NOT STARTING A TEAM? No problem!  Click here and you'll be taken to the main Walk page.  Scroll down the page to the team section.  There you will find all of the registered Walk teams.  Click on the team of your choice and when you get to the team's webpage click "Donate".  Anyone contributing $35 or more to support the Walk will receive a Coalition t-shirt!

SPONSOR US! When your organization sponsors the Walk, you'll receive a large number of benefits including public recognition and an opportunity to market directly to your target audience.
Depending on your sponsorship level benefits include:
  • Your name/logo placement on official t-shirts
  • Your name on event signage
  • Recognition on the day of the walk through announcements, signs, and programs
  • Mention in our  monthly e-newsletter
  • A table and 2 chairs in a prime area at the event

If you've organized a team we will recognize our top fundraisers at the opening ceremony!  All star, Shoot Star and Rock Star teams will be recognized by name.  All stars (those who fundraise less than $500) will be listed on the website!  (By the way, we think you are ALL stars!)

  • Shooting Start -- $1,000 +
  • All star -- $500 +
  • Star -- Set your own goal; minimum suggested goal - $35
